Getty Goodness

Looking for images or art books?  Getty Images and the Getty Museum are offering free access to some awesome collections of both.

Now you can embed thousands of high quality images from Getty Images in your blogs and other digital publications (like I did, above).  Just click on the "</>" button to grab the embed code and place it in your publication. If you don't think this is a big deal--think again! If you've ever struggled to find gorgeous pictures for your website, you know what I'm talking about.

The Getty Museum
If you've ever been to Los Angeles, you've probably visited the Getty Museum, a beautiful place modeled after a Roman palace. The Getty Publications Virtual Library offers a free digital backlist of over 250 free ebooks for download or online reading. Naturally, their specialty is antiquities.

I found a great title, Pots and Plays: Interactions Between Tragedy and Greek Vase-Painting of the Fourth Century B.C.  I decided to add it to our collection, so I uploaded a copy of it to our MediaCast server, and cataloged in our library catalog.  The next books I want to look at are Gardens of the Roman World and Ancient Herbs in the J. Paul Getty Museum Gardens.
